Fred’s Team is a fundraising program with a lifesaving mission: to bring us one step closer to a world without cancer. Each year, hundreds of athletes of all abilities join Fred’s Team to compete in marathons, half-marathons, triathlons, bike races, and other endurance events all over the world to raise funds for pioneering research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
Fred’s Team was named in honor of running legend and co-founder of the New York City Marathon, Fred Lebow — a man who dared to dream of a world without cancer.
“Running the marathon is the best way I know to fight this disease.” — Fred Lebow
Every dollar raised by Fred’s Team runners goes directly to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. MSKCC is the world’s oldest and largest private institution devoted to prevention, patient care, research, and education in cancer. The scientists and clinicians generate innovative approaches to better understand, diagnose and treat cancer. The specialists are leaders in biomedical research and in translating the latest research to advance the standard of cancer care worldwide.
Help me reach my goal! I am striving to raise $3,500. I will be personally contributing each month, as I feel strongly about this cause. However, I know there are individuals who will help me along the way! You are welcome to donate as little or as much as you can or would like. Remember, anything counts – Even if it is just an encouraging note or thought sent my way to help me through the training!!
If you can monetarily donate, please visit my donation site at: Bethaney’s Freds Team Donation Page
